December at Doodle Pantry

Laurie at Doodle Pantry has done it again . . . she created so many wonderful sets this month that I had a hard time deciding which one to feature today.

I used the pre-colored digi (I went over it with Copics) and printed two copies. I fussy cut the first digi and cut several berries and one of the leaves from the second digi.

I used my big ball stylus on the "wrong side" to round over the edges a bit. Then added a wee bit of dimensional to add depth.

I used one of the digital papers that comes with this set. I cut an oval out of the paper rather than place an oval burgandy piece over the digi paper. I'm not sure why I've been doing this lately, other than I just like the way it looks in person. Hard to tell the difference in the pictures.  Then I die cut an oval band from green cardstock to add as an accent piece.

I colored a few white pearls with a green Sharpie before I realized that I had green pearls. Oh well...these came out a deeper green than the pre-colored pearls and look a bit better.

The sentiment is also from this set. The image below shows everything you get with this set, plus you also get black and white line art that you can color yourself. Stop by the Doodle Pantry store to see all the new December releases. Pick up a few while they're on sale. Then stop by the Doodle Pantry blog after 12 noon EST today to join in on the monthly challenge.

Christmas Card Challenges: Anything Goes

This is the last challenge of the "fiscal year" at Christmas Card Challenges. I think that means my Christmas Cards should be done and ready for the mail . . . which they're not.

But with an Anything Goes challenge this week, I have one more card completed. I hope you have most of your cards done. If not, join along with us this week. The clock is ticking . . .

The Christmas Tree is from the Tiny Tree set and the sentiment is from the Birdie Christmas set. Both sets are from Doodle Pantry.

The tree, popped up via dimensionals, peaks out through the hole on the front of the card.

To keep the layers to a minimum on the inside, I punched a circle out of the white cardstock and laid that on top of the red glitter cardstock ~ I know you probably can't see the glittery look to the red cardstock, but it's there . . . in person.  It might have been easier to just punch a red circle and lay that on top of the white cardstock, but I thought that would add extra bulk to this card.

Stop by the Christmas Card Challenges blog to see what the other Design Team members created this week.

If you'd like either of the Doodle Pantry sets I used this week~or any other sets~now would be a great time to stock up.  There's a terrific sale (30% off) that ends today (November 30). Check out all the digis available at the Doodle Pantry store

So Thankful

This has been a tough week. Hubby had outpatient surgery, but then wound up back in the hospital overnight due to some complications with the medication he was given.  All is better, or at least getting better. He has a lot of restrictions for at least 6 weeks; which means I get to do everything around the house. I'm not complaining, but it does cut into my "crafting" time a bit {smile}

I received a surprise in the mail a couple weeks ago from Alanna. Check out her blog here~she creates the most awesome cards and she also happens to be the DT Coordinator for Christmas Card Challenges.

I couldn't wait to use this die.  I knew it would be the focal point of the thank you cards I was making for those who helped organize our community's Annual Art & Craft Fair.

This die, called "You Mean the World to Me" (of course LOL), is from Die-namics. I have a lot of Die-namics Dies, but I luckily didn't have this one.  I punched a green circle to place behind the "world" which allowed the yellow to show behind the words.

The Committee Members really do mean the world to me because without their help and support, the Art & Craft Fair would not happen.

Thank you Alanna for a beautiful die. I love it and "You Mean the World to Me!!"

Gift Tags ~ Deedee's Digis

Deedee's Digis has a Monthly Progressive Challenge.  Play along one month using the specified digital image/set, and receive a set for free to use the next month. Keep playing . . . keep receiving new images every month.

To join in the monthly challenges, you have to buy the first set (although Deedee gives a huge discount--only $1.25 for November's pre-colored and line art set, "Mix It Up"). But, I had a plan for one of the digis and sentiments  {smile}.

My mother loves to bake . . . in fact she bakes hundreds of cookies every month for the children at her church. She also gives plates of cookies to friends, relatives and neighbors every holiday. So, I thought adding a tag like this to one of her "baked gifts" would be the "icing on the cake" ~ so to speak.

Since all of my mom's baking is done with love, this sentiment . . . and pre-colored image . . . is just perfect.  I have several completed and hopefully they'll get in the mail in time for her to use this Christmas.

Stop by Deedee's Digis ~ there's still time to play along in November's Digi of the Month Challenge.

Thank You

I think I've finally recovered from our community's annual Art & Craft Fair. I'm just about done with all the Thank You notes that need to be sent out (something I like to do).  So, I thought I'd share one with you today (I did 3 different designs . . . one for the Exhibitors, one for the Workers and one for the Team Coordinators).  I'll share the other two in a couple days.

I used Doodle Pantry's Autumn Song Birdies pre-colored digi stamp.

I thought the digi went great with the sentiment.

The die cut "Thanks" and stamped sentiment are from Simon Says.

Stop by the Doodle Pantry store to see Autumn Song Birdies or any of the other terrific digital sets.

Crafty Creations #276: Recipe Challenge

The new challenge at Crafty Creations is a Recipe Challenge:
Use at least 3 layers, 2 designer papers and 1 image
We're sponsored by Fresh Brewed Designs

I wanted to make a "Happy" card (I won't go into details). When I look at this card . . . well, I can't help but smile. I hope it puts a smile on your face also.

The image is from Doodle Pantry's Cute Critter set. I used the pre-colored image, but went over it with Copics to highlight the colors.

The inside sentiment is my own creation. I couldn't resist using the word "Quack" in the sentiment and it just seemed to fit the image SO well, don't you think?

Stop by Crafty Creations to see what the other DT members created this week. Then grab your supplies and make a card . . . it's as easy as 1 ... 2 ... 3.

Christmas Card Challenges #50

The Challenge theme this week at Christmas Card Challenges is:
Faith Based

This is one of my favorite digital images. I just love coloring it (yes, it's b&w line art that I actually colored myself using Copics).

Please stop by the Christmas Card Challenges blog to see what the other DT members created this week.
