Yes, I've been absent for nearly 3 months.  Life just "happens."  But, even though I may not always understand why things happen the way they do, I do know that God gives me the strength I need, when I need it, to get through each situation.

I do have to add "WHERE DID THE SUMMER GO?"  Yes, I am yelling that!! I can't believe we are near the end of September already. Which means I have to get cranking on my Christmas cards.

And what better way to get started than at Christmas Card Challenges.  The Challenge this week is a Color Challenge; although the only real rule is that you create a Christmas or holiday card.  I'm back with the Design Team and am looking forward to sharing my Christmas items with you the next several months.

I used an image from LOTV's Bumper Art Pad Set 29-Vintage Christmas (sadly, this, and others, are no longer available...oh, how I wish they'd bring them back).  I distressed all the pieces with Tim Holtz Distress Ink-Vintage Photo.

I took a little bit of liberty with the colors, but they are close.

Check out what the other Design Team members created this week. It won't be long before we have to get these cards in the mail.

Christmas Card Challenges #51

It felt so good to get back to cardmaking and working in my Craft Studio/Room. I never realized how much an illness can knock one down.

With Christmas just right around the corner, I hope you'll join us this week at Christmas Card Challenges.  It's an Anything Goes theme, so grab your Christmas items and join in.

This is a pre-colored image from Lili of the Valley's Art Pad 'Tis the Season Set 36. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps~Holiday Mini Letter Seals.

I added some ribbon and clear crystals, which in hindsight look more like ice than snow.

Hop on over and see what the other Design Team Members created this week (click here or on the image above). Hopefully you'll be inspired to join along. We really love to see your creations.

And since I had the supplies out, I created another card. These Art Pads make cardmaking SO easy.

Finally . . .

Yes, Finally !!!   I finally had a chance to ink up and color this LOTV stamp ~ it's so cute, I'm not sure what took me so long to use it.

And this wonderful sketch design at Tuesday Morning Sketches just seemed to be the perfect time to use this stamp.  It's been awhile since I've played along with them, but I love their sketches and the fact that I don't really have to "think" about how I'm going to put my card together.

And here's the sketch I used.  I really didn't waiver from it, other than I added a sentiment to the bottom.

I thought I'd also play along in the following Challenges:

Seize The Birthday - Must be Birthday Card - Anything Goes Challenge
QKR Stampede #140 - Children's Birthday Card
Simply Papercraft - #5 Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - #107  - Anything Goes
WordArt Wednesdays - #184 -Anything Goes Family Friendly
On A Stampage  Mynn's birthday bash
