Christmas Card Challenge #33

   Ever since I used my first metal embossing plate (remember, the ones we needed a stylus for?) . . . I have been fascinated with creating raised words and designs on cardstock. I now mainly use embossing folders and certainly have more than any one person should own. And, yes, I still have all my metal plates as well--I can't throw anything away

   So I was thrilled that the theme this week at Christmas Card Challenges is

 * * * Embossing * * *

    In creating my inspiration card, I took full advantage of using several embossing folders (I decided not to showcase heat embossing for this challenge even though I like that just about as much as "dry" embossing).

   First, I embossed the striped red/kraft cardstock with my . . . striped embossing folder. After die-cutting the trees, I ran each one through a different embossing folder so they would each have a unique pattern. Then I cut some Kraft "snow" and, after stamping Merry Christmas, I ran it through my dot embossing folder.

   I really like to add something to the inside of my cards. For some reason I feel all the work on the front seems lost if it doesn't carry through to the inside.

   Now, head on over to Christmas Card Challenges this week and enter your own Christmas Card using Embossing. In the meantime, be sure to check out my fellow Christmas Card Design Teamies. They outdid themselves this week by providing beautiful inspirational designs and ideas.

    2. I saved a copy in my favorite's file with your name and blog's URL. When I make it (although I have different tree dies -- so I hope it works). I'll be sure to link it to your blog's card and let you know.

    3. It should work. It also looks good with one fat Christmas tree (I have that die also). Good luck and can't wait to see your card.

  9. I really like those embossed trees! It adds so much interest and texture. And the inside of the card is beautiful, too. I have to admit to not decorating the inside of my cards most times, but I should because it really creates a "finished" project. Thanks for playing with CSAYL.
