Exciting News

I have some exciting news to share with you today. I've been asked to join the
Doodle Pantry Creative Team.
If you know how much I love Doodle Pantry digi stamps, then you understand why I'm so excited to be a part of this wonderful group.  I can't wait to share projects with you using Doodle Pantry digis and hopefully you'll see how easy they are to work with and why I like them so much.

Since I just found out, I didn't have time to put together a "new" card using Doodle Pantry images, but this is one I really liked and thought I would share it with you again.

You can check out the original post for this card here and check out the Doodle Pantry blog here or the Doodle Pantry store here..

Christmas Card Challenge-Anything Goes

It's "Anything Goes" over at Christmas Card Challenges this week.  Please stop by to see what the Design Team members have created for you this week.  We'd love to have you join us . . . and you'll get a Christmas card completed as a bonus.

I love side-step cards. I decided to make a simple one and used an image from a set of notes I bought . . . hmm, not sure when but it was a LONG time ago. And, to be honest, I made this card a bit ago, but since it's "Anything Goes" this week, I thought I would share it with you.

Hope to see you over at Christmas Card Challenges.

Crafty Creations - Pick your Holiday

With Easter around the corner, I decided to pick Easter as my holiday for the current challenge over at Crafty Creations.  We're sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps so I used one of their stamps called "Three Amigos."

I colored the image with Copics and went for bright, cheery colors. After all, that's how I remember Easter as a child ~ colorful eggs, jelly beans and, of course, a new colorful dress.

How can these three characters not bring a smile to your face? I can't wait for Easter. I added leftover Crate Paper 6x6 Pad Little Bo Peep DSP  to the inside, as well as the sentiment (from Doodle Pantry's Floral Hats set).

What holiday will you pick for your card this week? Please stop by our challenge blog (click here) to see what the other DT members have created.

Another Birthday Card

With so many friends and family having  birthdays in March and April, I don't know how I missed one. So now I needed a "Belated Birthday" card. I found an adorable image, added a funny sentiment (I hope they'll think so), bright colors and my belated birthday card was created.

The image, Crab, is from Doodle Pantry's Critter Tales set. I also used 2 digi papers that came with the set. They are so bright and cheerful and went well with the bright blue cardstock.

I re-colored the lightened image with Copics and added Crystal Effects to the eyes, since Crab eyes should "pop" ~ don't you think?

A few pearls from my stash and the card is complete. It's so easy to create a card using Doodle Pantry digital items because most sets include images (B&W and color), sentiments and matching papers so everything coordinates so well.

I'm entering this card in Doodle Pantry's Monthly Challenge.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

It's time for another card for From the Heart Stamps Stamp of the Month Challenge.  Faith sent out the cute "Hamlet Pigwit Think Spring" digistamp to everyone that participated last month. It included several sentiments along with two Hamlet Pigwit digis: one with shamrocks (how perfect for St. Patrick's Day) and another one with a butterfly and daffodils.

I don't have a lot of Copics, but I had the right colors for this image. This time the coloring is all mine and I really like the way it turned out.

I originally decided to use the "Irish" digi and sentiment because my DH is Irish and he also goes pig hunting. Then after I put it together, I realized that this card should come from him rather than go to him. Oh well . . . he probably won't realize the mistake.

Card Recipe:

Christmas Card Challenges #16

One more Christmas Card finished -- are you working on yours? If you are, we'd love to have you join us this week at Christmas Card Challenges. The theme is: Chevrons.

I have to admit that after I finished this card and looked close, I think the pattern looks more like "Herringbone" than "Chevron" but it'll have to do. Once again, I used a few items from my scrap box: the border piece, lace ribbon and embossed red CS. It doesn't appear to be going down as fast as I thought it would, but it feels good every time I use a few scraps.

I stamped the image twice using VersaMark Ink. I used green embossing powder on one and colored it with Copics. On the second one I used gold embossing powder and colored the bell with gold and silver markers. I added dimensionals to the main image and also under the bell.  I carried the paper and border to the inside as well.

We'd love for you to stop by the Christmas Card Challenges blog and see what all the DT members have created this week for your inspiration. Join with us and make a Christmas Card . . . you don't have to use Chevrons, just as long as you make a Christmas Card. And, when November comes around . . . you'll thank me.

Happiness is . . .

. . . me . . . crafting all day. I've spent a portion of the past three days making cards and working on paper projects. I just finished photographing and watermarking everything; I can't wait to share them with you over the next couple weeks.

This card was made using a free digi from "Imagine that! Digis by Kris" called Kitty in Flowers. If you play along in the monthly challenge, you'll receive a new, free image the following month. This month she sent us an entire digital set which included several sentiments and the digistamp in B&W as well as a color version.  I colored the digistamp with Copics, but used the color version as a guide.

I used one of the free sentiments for the inside. I'm still trying to build my stash of birthday cards so this digistamp set was perfect. And the Imagine That! store is also celebrating their 1-year birthday. Congrats!

I love the bright colors and how everything just came together on this card.

Card Recipe:
White and Royal Blue Cardstock
DP from Crate Paper: Little Bo Peep Collection
Spellbinders Standard Circles Small and Classic Scalloped Circles Small
EK Success Real Estate Punch
Ribbon and Pearls from stash

CAS - Clean and Simple

Welcome to another week at Christmas Card Challenges
The Challenge:  create a Clean and Simple Christmas Card.

You may want to create several cards this week because Clean and Simple usually equates to less bulk which means "regular postage." And, saving on postage means more money to spend on crafting supplies . . . Yay !!

Sometimes my CAS cards tend to take me the longest. But this one didn't. The hardest part was placing all the little pearls -- I don't use self-adhesive pearls, just good old fashioned glue. But I like the way it came out.

Be sure to pop by the Christmas Card Challenges blog to see what the other Design Team members have created this week. And get working on those Christmas Cards. Only 37 more weeks until those cards need to get in the mail.

Happy Anniversary to Me!

Yes, Happy Anniversary to ME!! No, it's not my wedding anniversary, but it's my . .  wait for it . . . it's my
Blog Anniversary.

Yes, one year ago today I posted my very first blog post. Wow!! Time does goes by fast.

So, for this special day, I'm sharing a card and matching box, so the bow doesn't get squished, I made for a friend's upcoming anniversary.  After all, it fits the theme today.

I'm entering the above in the:
Incy Wincy Designs Anniversary Challenge
Ooh-la-la Creations: #151 Happy Anniversary
Crafting When We Can Challenges: Anniversary--TOP 3

Note: I have to apologize for the lackluster photo. I tried to do this post from my tablet and rushed to take a picture. For some reason, my tablet wouldn't upload the picture so now I'm scrambling to get the post completed on my computer before the day ends.

Crafty Creations #258 - Happy Birthday

The Challenge Theme for the next two weeks at Crafty Creations is
Happy Birthday.
As I said last month, I need a LOT of birthday cards in the next couple of months, so I was thrilled with this challenge. Our sponsor is Beccy's Place and her digistamps are so easy to work with.  I used "Romantic Roses" and it's available in B&W line art and also a colorized version. I used the B&W version and colored it with Copics.

I finally cracked open a pad of DP -"Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Paper Pad by American Crafts". I also found some, VERY old, pink CS. I found the bow already made with a matching piece of scrap of ribbon as well (I think I had planned to use it on another project and changed my mind). I added pearls (self-adhesive pearls, I didn't have to glue these down WOW!!!) to the upper corner because . . . well, just because I bought them eons ago and they've been taking up space in a drawer and I never wanted to use them because then I wouldn't have them anymore; however,  I'm trying to use stash this year that I haven't used before (I tend to "hoard" my items, which is not the purpose of making cards in the first place). So, that's why there are pearls, self-adhesive pearls, on this card.

I printed 3 copies of the digistamp and colored all 3 the same. Then fussy cut the first one out in its entirety and placed it on a die cut mat (brand new Deco Labels Framelits by Stampin' Up!) using dimensionals. Then I cut a few leaves and flower petals from the other two images.

After bending and squishing the leaves and petals, I added a few more dimensionals here and there to give it a 3-D-realistic look rather than a "flat" look.

And, since this is a "Happy Birthday" challenge, I added Stampin' Up!'s Happy Birthday Wishes stamp to the inside. The pink sentiment shows up much better in person than it does in this picture.
Please stop by the Crafty Creations blog (click HERE) to see what the other DT members have created. We'd love to have you join along ~ after all, everyone can use an extra Happy Birthday card.

I'm also entering this card in The Sisterhood of Snarky Sisters Card Challenge #2: U is for Unused - DP, self-adhesive pearls and framelits die cut (OK, this card may not seem very snarky, but it would be if I sent it to a guy, right?).

And I'm entering this card in Beccy's Place monthly challenge.
