Crafty Creations Challenges #285

We have a great challenge for you at Crafty Creations. It'll run for two weeks, ending March 30.  Yes, a great challenge with a wonderful theme:
Chevrons or Stripes

And, if you look closely at my card, it has neither. Mmm hmm.  I completely messed up the themes and so there are no chevrons or stripes on my card.

But, Beccy's Place is our sponsor and she sent me this absolutely beautiful digi to work with (Petite Fleur Set~click here). I fell in love with it ~ so I:
~ heat embossed the background paper and sponged on color;
~ fussy cut the flowers and leaves;
~ inked and colored all the pieces (there were many layers);
~ carefully added dimension to the flowers and leaves;
~ then strategically placed foam tape and glue for additional dimension to the entire image.

And, I was pretty happy with this card . . . until I realized there were no Chevrons or Stripes on it anywhere. So, I'm sorry, my Crafty Creations DT buddies, but this card will have to do.  In fact, I'm not even going to write anymore . . . just enjoy the pictures. I've listed the items I used on this card at the bottom.

And you may want to stop by the Crafty Creations Challenges blog to see what my Design Teamies created ~ actually using chevrons and/or stripes.  LOL

  1. Your card is absolutely beautiful Heather, I love it! You did an amazing job with the background, I really like the white embossing and the gorgeous colours sponged over the top. The flowers look fabulous too, you obviously worked very hard to colour them all in, cut them out and then pop them up with dimensional tape... your hard work was definitely worth the results. Gorgeous!
    Cheers,
    Beccy

  2. Ah...yup....I've done that a time or two myself (not following the theme). However, you card is absolutely stunning! Love your background paper and the flowers are just gorgeous.

    Thanks for your visit today and thanks for the heads up on the challenges. I miss entering over at DP but I just checked and it looks like the challenges are back to Anything Goes, every month. I never seemed to fit with the themes but now that they are AG again, I'll definitely start going back. Also, I've never heard of Crafty Creations challenge so thanks for the heads up on that one too. I'm going to go and enter my card right now!

    Hugs,
    Lisa

    p.s. hope you got the reply I sent to your email a little while back. I never know with Yahoo whether my mail gets through!

    1. I'm going to go check to see your entries. I think AG is so much easier for monthly challenges. And, yes, got your email. I'll send one back soon...should have done it sooner.

  3. Too funny! I'm so glad you just went with it, rather than stressing over starting over to get it right. Because this card really is beautiful. And no, even I can't seem to wrangle a stripe or a chevron out of it, so you're totally stuck. :D Oh wait! Maybe it's destined for a mom who always wears stripes? Hahahaha!
