No...it's not Sunday.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Yes...I forgot to post my card for this week's challenge at <b><a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Christmas Card Challenges</a></b>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There's still plenty of time to link up your items; maybe this mid-week reminder will get you moving!! And it's an "Anything Goes" challenge theme, so what could be easier?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This card is not an original idea of mine. I saw it on a Stampin' Up! website but I can't remember where. I changed up a few things, but kept the basic idea.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

I opted to pick up the colors and the pattern of the photo rather than the "cakes" in the photo ~ because I liked the colors and the patterns. Truth be told, I couldn't find any images of cakes I liked that went with the photo.<br />

We have a very easy Challenge this week at <b><a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Christmas Card Challenges</a></b>, so I hope you join along. It's "Anything Goes." Yes, our challenges do have that "feature" every week, but this week, there's no inspiration photo or color challenge, so you're on your own. Show us your beautiful creations.</div>
<br />

Yes, I've been absent for nearly 3 months. Life just "happens." But, even though I may not always understand why things happen the way they do, I do know that God gives me the strength I need, when I need it, to get through each situation.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I do have to add "WHERE DID THE SUMMER GO?" Yes, I am yelling that!! I can't believe we are near the end of September already. Which means I have to get cranking on my Christmas cards.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And what better way to get started than at <a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Christmas Card Challenges</a>. The Challenge this week is a Color Challenge; although the only real rule is that you create a Christmas or holiday card. I'm back with the Design Team and am looking forward to sharing my Christmas items with you the next several months.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used an image from LOTV's Bumper Art Pad Set 29-Vintage Christmas (sadly, this, and others, are no longer available...oh, how I wish they'd bring them back). I distressed all the pieces with Tim Holtz Distress Ink-Vintage Photo.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I took a little bit of liberty with the colors, but they are close.</div>

I've been away for a few weeks spending a wonderful time with family and friends in Michigan. The irony is that for several days Michigan was actually hotter than where I live in Florida. I was looking forward to cooler weather...and didn't get it as often as I would have liked.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now that I'm home, it's time to get busy crafting again. This week at <b><a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Christmas Card Challenges</a></b> it's "Anything Goes." So grab your supplies and get busy making those Christmas Holiday cards.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I did a twist on the standard Center Step Card. And I'm including the pattern so you can make one yourself. If you do, please leave a link to your card in the Comments below. Or, if it's a Christmas card, link it up to the weekly <a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/" style="font-weight: bold;" target="_blank">Christmas Card Challenges</a>. I'd love to see what you create.</div>

Ready to get started? </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Start with cardstock 8.5" x 4.25" On the wrong side, measure and mark where the dots are on the pattern. I'll try to explain it, but hopefully the visual will fill in any gaps.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
All measurements are from the left edge and create the red line: </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1" from the left and 1" up from the bottom (and down from the top)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
4.25" from the left and 1.75" up from the bottom (and down from the top)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
5.25" from the left and 1.5" up from the bottom (and down from the top)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Draw two straight lines to connect these three dots (red line) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Draw a straight line to connect the left and far right dot (blue line)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Using an exacto (or your favorite cutter), cut on the red and blue lines to remove the triangle</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The score lines are indicated by the black lines on the pattern (don't mark these, just score them):</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Score at 1", 2" and 5.25" DOWN to the cut line (from the top) and UP to the cut line (from the bottom). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Score at 4.25" between the cut lines</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Flip the cardstock over (so your marks are on the inside). Starting at the left edge (where your 1" score line is), your folds will be mountain, valley, mountain, mountain.</div>

To mat the card, I just repeated these steps on an accent color and trimmed it smaller for the dark grey piece. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the burgundy pieces, I cut a piece 3-1/8" long by 1-3/8" at the top and 1" at the bottom. Be sure your "straight edge" is on the left on one piece and the right on the second piece.</div>

So, hop on over to the Challenge blog (<a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">click here</a>) to see all the inspirational items this week.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then, get your crafty supplies out and start working on your Christmas cards, tags or gifts. We'd love to have you join us and since this week is "Anything Goes," it's the perfect time to show off your beautiful creations.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCKNEGWudRyKrclnJNfePhOE8KqTopGPpb8t3uq5uA3nqANIiXI0pAak7q_RCJBloBf9gx_XlGrd9YJKcwxSLJHsYFcBvLZcKR_Q2M3v6CwKKeNg0j13TsIy6LUaJn9AR00ydkLpfLf9M/s1600/DSCF3033.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCKNEGWudRyKrclnJNfePhOE8KqTopGPpb8t3uq5uA3nqANIiXI0pAak7q_RCJBloBf9gx_XlGrd9YJKcwxSLJHsYFcBvLZcKR_Q2M3v6CwKKeNg0j13TsIy6LUaJn9AR00ydkLpfLf9M/s400/DSCF3033.JPG" width="316" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lots of distressing, but a very simple design.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrpdMw7B60EzAVnKQBNoyEv7FeofqZEr6qEnx1bFK-lPbssQKY4sZn5pD7y9B07fgXroqAupmFNpkMNT6DBUdJdKlorgdDlKTu7nd7mkid6LrWo78O8F7d_Bp-gM3j7yNcAukgXMj6nOg/s1600/DSCF2941.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrpdMw7B60EzAVnKQBNoyEv7FeofqZEr6qEnx1bFK-lPbssQKY4sZn5pD7y9B07fgXroqAupmFNpkMNT6DBUdJdKlorgdDlKTu7nd7mkid6LrWo78O8F7d_Bp-gM3j7yNcAukgXMj6nOg/s320/DSCF2941.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And I kept the inside simple also.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFXj7xeumCw6h8LREtagbU88eEwkbJon7dp1z4JZwjaxK0UEAesq6ENxzBbXMJMagr0JPNAY9dKjLg3EDZkLZTX6E1hTIasmqYTql4HmJo8dDlSis7bOr6mIbdCnVuFAuSQiaLRo77rrg/s1600/DSCF2943+%25282%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFXj7xeumCw6h8LREtagbU88eEwkbJon7dp1z4JZwjaxK0UEAesq6ENxzBbXMJMagr0JPNAY9dKjLg3EDZkLZTX6E1hTIasmqYTql4HmJo8dDlSis7bOr6mIbdCnVuFAuSQiaLRo77rrg/s400/DSCF2943+%25282%2529.JPG" width="310" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I liked the design, so I created a 2nd card using punched ornaments. Yes, they're "floating" in space, but adding hanging threads just didn't look right on this card...although I think I like the poinsettia card better.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

I can't wait to see what you create. </div>

The weeks are flying by so fast. Which means, before we all know it, Christmas will be here and you'll wish you had ALL of your cards done and ready to go ~ actually Thanksgiving, which is when I send out my cards. So, why not get started NOW and join us this week at <b><a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Christmas Card Challenges</a></b>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
We have an optional Photo Challenge to get you inspired. But the only real rule to play along with us is to create a Christmas/holiday card. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP8mPJ3pYiqnhGPkYmL7edJb2EEKQKD3G7t2VPlR0gVqfixu58AMrLUwGg18eSHPgghZsdl8ExEgjgcj-Vyhhil3Mu49ComIjo7wIeLy6y5f2bEMIPvGuRrt-3LWpn4buOgdIMoe2PzG8/s1600/Week+20.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="229" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP8mPJ3pYiqnhGPkYmL7edJb2EEKQKD3G7t2VPlR0gVqfixu58AMrLUwGg18eSHPgghZsdl8ExEgjgcj-Vyhhil3Mu49ComIjo7wIeLy6y5f2bEMIPvGuRrt-3LWpn4buOgdIMoe2PzG8/s320/Week+20.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I chose to go with the greys and red colors; and I threw in a tad bit of yellow for the birds. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I heat embossed the image using Stampin' Up! Smokey Slate embossing Powder. It gave it such a soft color, that instead of using Copics to color the image, I decided to watercolor it using pencils and ink. It almost looks like a piece of Vellum is over the image due to the softness of the image/coloring.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG-jfhUGxkciGlWFGNIngZE5fxOV7GOLKta_NDhkO7D786U__eL0DaTlYC9ipnMyb0VFM5pnuG-3aOtQbx7nVKA4cjHkXtTaybuoPHZzALhu6Q3YpH7OruGZubTxgHjPae2NTc-ZezmUI/s1600/DSCF3020.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG-jfhUGxkciGlWFGNIngZE5fxOV7GOLKta_NDhkO7D786U__eL0DaTlYC9ipnMyb0VFM5pnuG-3aOtQbx7nVKA4cjHkXtTaybuoPHZzALhu6Q3YpH7OruGZubTxgHjPae2NTc-ZezmUI/s400/DSCF3020.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Please don't look too close at the picture. I know, it looks like Santa has a glob of something stuck to his mustache. But he doesn't. For some reason, the EP came out darker in just that one area (ugh!!) and since I was in a rush (nothing new there, right?) I had to go with what I had.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hop on over to see what the other Designers created this week and grab your craft supplies and join us. We love to see what you create!!</div>

I have a quick post today, mainly because I forgot to write it last night. Thank you for stopping by today. We have an easy challenge this week at <b><a href="http://www.christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Christmas Card Challenges</a></b>:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Anything Goes</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It may seem a bit odd, since our challenges every week do have an "Anything Goes" option, but this week there's no Photo or Color Challenge to inspire you. . . so you're on your own. I can't wait to see what you create.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have a mini tutorial for you this week; so grab a cuppa and let's get crafty.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I decided to use my "Quilt" Embossing Folder for my card. Since my 1-1/4" punch was just a tad shy of the "squares" on the EF, I had to adjust the layout; which meant the squares on the outer edges would need to be cut so they fit an A2 card and there'd be a slight gap between the squares.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0qAUNQWNDzox0Gq5xwTsyLWUrSKhTWjSZfZy9YWw0MiIALvbsKMRc0r6dEGcFmd6UrxEgu4YcT63KHyzJDXnJOoPmpem4Bu1s2OqmDkxvrIacLB66cCYpPHcPh_GujKZfHBDSbBcbvN4/s1600/DSCF2992.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0qAUNQWNDzox0Gq5xwTsyLWUrSKhTWjSZfZy9YWw0MiIALvbsKMRc0r6dEGcFmd6UrxEgu4YcT63KHyzJDXnJOoPmpem4Bu1s2OqmDkxvrIacLB66cCYpPHcPh_GujKZfHBDSbBcbvN4/s400/DSCF2992.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
All lined up and ready to be embossed.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUZL89ZJ3WurrccUAFug3z9Z8EM_lJIca8jYfk8Bh0QkkAiH0VcVypCCG-EJP77GC6KzrncaMfgxkKYiBmoy8_lhBeN8Zx-mJEEXJ9tkb7t7VgFImWBIKxjiwRKDjDC4wcE8YoJF7AluU/s1600/DSCF2993.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUZL89ZJ3WurrccUAFug3z9Z8EM_lJIca8jYfk8Bh0QkkAiH0VcVypCCG-EJP77GC6KzrncaMfgxkKYiBmoy8_lhBeN8Zx-mJEEXJ9tkb7t7VgFImWBIKxjiwRKDjDC4wcE8YoJF7AluU/s400/DSCF2993.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the back side. You can see the quilt pattern a bit better on solid cardstock...and you can see where the DSP needs to be trimmed.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgR7hqia8AG-MGIVlkgQ-M2VIWPxqnsXwtZtnC9ktc5vMlriUV53joRerMUE0haDH80lVzullGMY2c7BMvWQfA5_gye2VMKrvDwYWTH-7dp-eBLsF9ncrQ6na7Qqa3YrfYcfm5d8Md_-xA/s1600/DSCF2995.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="390" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgR7hqia8AG-MGIVlkgQ-M2VIWPxqnsXwtZtnC9ktc5vMlriUV53joRerMUE0haDH80lVzullGMY2c7BMvWQfA5_gye2VMKrvDwYWTH-7dp-eBLsF9ncrQ6na7Qqa3YrfYcfm5d8Md_-xA/s400/DSCF2995.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
All trimmed and ready for the outer band of green (every quilt has an outer edge, right?). I could have just placed the squares on top of the green, but I felt the additional "frame" looked better...at least it does in person. I so have a lloonngg way to go in photographing my cards. :-(</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the stars, because after all...stars twinkle LOL</div>

Remember the <b><a href="http://www.papercraftingfromtheheart.blogspot.com/2016/03/happy-easter.html">Boat Basket</a></b> from Sunday? As promised, today I have the instructions and pattern so you can create your own "Boat Basket." I hope you enjoy ~ there are a lot of pictures, so grab a cuppa and let's get crafty.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's the original I made for hubby's Easter Basket. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 17.12px;">Finished Basket is 3-5/8" wide x 2-1/2" deep x 4-1/8" tall</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggjr-kQt6cpLMSWMNKYyMtePrynSQEj-BzGvoE-Fza9UuVQ3y1e2TLGPYkXGe6JJfvgKFNECBbVgjmXngpU-S9ZNCe5mT2MKB-1YOeIXrql-MVPWrid3U7S7jrY1brkNarFmoMOh6KKVc/s1600/DSCF2984.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggjr-kQt6cpLMSWMNKYyMtePrynSQEj-BzGvoE-Fza9UuVQ3y1e2TLGPYkXGe6JJfvgKFNECBbVgjmXngpU-S9ZNCe5mT2MKB-1YOeIXrql-MVPWrid3U7S7jrY1brkNarFmoMOh6KKVc/s400/DSCF2984.JPG" width="376" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Keep in mind that I don't do a lot of tutorials ... most of my papercrafting is trial and error. So, if something seems off in the pattern or instructions, leave me a comment and I'll update/fix the pattern and/or instructions.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 6pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 17.12px;">Refer to the pattern for cutting and folding guidelines. Solid lines are cut lines (although I fold all the lines, then cut what needs to be cut). The dotted lines are fold lines only. The shaded triangles are cut away, as are the 4 small rectangles at the top and bottom of the pattern.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 6pt; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Your Basket Base should look like the photo below after all the folding and cutting is done.</div>

There you have it . . . my Boat Basket Pattern and Instructions. If you make one, I'd love to see your creations. As I said in Sunday's post, I didn't create this idea, I only created the pattern/instructions because I wasn't able to find them anywhere on the Internet.</div>

Wishing all my friends a Happy Easter as we celebrate our Risen Lord and Savior.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And, yes, it might seem strange to be showcasing a Christmas Card on this Easter Sunday. However, we have a new week, so that means a new challenge at <b><a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/">Christmas Card Challenges</a></b>. This week the optional twist is a Color Challenge (with a photo, so I had to add the berries LOL).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I decided to begin making my "gift" Christmas Cards. I use them to add a gift card or some homemade goodies ~ it's my 3-dimensional "card."</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2VH70yfmPk_HjnOYhtXNw0NdB_WKq8RjoibyfqdZ7lTeCFKbLacjsrOter9kW2QNAGHnW05JcecI_Rw6sBYQaf__-wMCHYaoea_cEGelxHPRUGqMxjeLBAqHdLQfVFHYUzpdgm_W9trY/s1600/Heather+%252317.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2VH70yfmPk_HjnOYhtXNw0NdB_WKq8RjoibyfqdZ7lTeCFKbLacjsrOter9kW2QNAGHnW05JcecI_Rw6sBYQaf__-wMCHYaoea_cEGelxHPRUGqMxjeLBAqHdLQfVFHYUzpdgm_W9trY/s400/Heather+%252317.jpg" width="376" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I saw something similar a while back on Pinterest, but when I searched the internet, I couldn't find a pattern or instructions anywhere. So, I created my own. I'm not sure if it's the same size as the one I saw, but it works great and comes together faster than I expected. I'll share the pattern and instructions in another post in a few days (I created an "Easter Basket" for hubby and I have pics and instructions for that basket).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I call this my <b><i>Boat Basket</i> </b>because I think it resembles a boat. Lots of cutting and sponging, but it's well worth it.</div>

I hope you stop by the <b><a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/">Christmas Card Challenges</a></b> blog to see what the other Designers have created for your inspiration this week. And, you might as well begin your Christmas Cards now ... Christmas will be here soon and you'll be happy you have a few cards in your stash.</div>

Another Sunday, a new <b><a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/">Christmas Card Challenge</a></b>. I hope you'll join along with the Design Team this week and link up a card creation ... we love to see your cards and this week we have a :</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Photo Challenge ~ Kraft and White (ornaments). </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Although the only real requirement is that you make a Christmas Card.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-eGcWb9N_AXZrGhOjOR3QCvLljZYWgd2D7LrHjATGdJ6mATA6fj8bT-k9QXKqH3ZuoJyapyn8pDwdUII7LSgt3ICQR1nZ487MXQN4hVMmUIwuZOT-_iqzgB20KlM4AO-dHNqDxeqOmoI/s1600/DSCF2952.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-eGcWb9N_AXZrGhOjOR3QCvLljZYWgd2D7LrHjATGdJ6mATA6fj8bT-k9QXKqH3ZuoJyapyn8pDwdUII7LSgt3ICQR1nZ487MXQN4hVMmUIwuZOT-_iqzgB20KlM4AO-dHNqDxeqOmoI/s400/DSCF2952.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's the inspiration this week:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLsX4rOLxcD8RlHfZarVWOXfm9OXbujDKd7dd6lsM1fChwugNCuBqeH1MW38oUxksGzaoa4eqAfv1SveJfEMWPwG45wekvgXt9LrsOAyMYa3TqMCrJIgmctWyp5huV5HxTkyXqnbHS0j0/s1600/Week+16.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="229" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLsX4rOLxcD8RlHfZarVWOXfm9OXbujDKd7dd6lsM1fChwugNCuBqeH1MW38oUxksGzaoa4eqAfv1SveJfEMWPwG45wekvgXt9LrsOAyMYa3TqMCrJIgmctWyp5huV5HxTkyXqnbHS0j0/s320/Week+16.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had SO much fun creating this card. I wanted to make a tri-shutter card this week ... BUT I wanted to use 5-1/2" x 11" cardstock and not the typical 5-1/2" x 12" piece. I have a lot of 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock and would rather use that size up rather than cut into my 12" x 12" cardstock. So, I tweaked the pattern and came up with a finished card that measures 5-1/2" x 4" and fits nicely into an A2 envelope.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk3sbPz6AOsFiO4L9TBLRYGBjmWw3pxiqukUXl_xuZvW_CyoWnCokf1Ft4Nq1agAzvQcycwQ1zPg5NpYN7cdnSHdWs5KuboSa1Esu4ABZepVkNq_ys_1nRqaKd0zFIptVra353R-YKeTY/s1600/DSCF2953.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="363" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk3sbPz6AOsFiO4L9TBLRYGBjmWw3pxiqukUXl_xuZvW_CyoWnCokf1Ft4Nq1agAzvQcycwQ1zPg5NpYN7cdnSHdWs5KuboSa1Esu4ABZepVkNq_ys_1nRqaKd0zFIptVra353R-YKeTY/s400/DSCF2953.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The card base is Kraft Cardstock. I stamped the wood pattern (SU!) onto Natural cardstock using Crumb Cake ink (SU!) and trimmed it to fit the front panel.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwTwhT_GQNj-c4kK4mtqYQmrp3WEtSO_PNRWh6LCc9Diqcz9W_uFBuMfiV7CvTesH_D8R5V2SPAJc4pFRQa0K8D175kalDPeq7QfEbihhbF_EEeoAuvdseLCt02nEGk2atRgiHBWTur2o/s1600/DSCF2954.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwTwhT_GQNj-c4kK4mtqYQmrp3WEtSO_PNRWh6LCc9Diqcz9W_uFBuMfiV7CvTesH_D8R5V2SPAJc4pFRQa0K8D175kalDPeq7QfEbihhbF_EEeoAuvdseLCt02nEGk2atRgiHBWTur2o/s400/DSCF2954.JPG" width="318" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The inside was decorated with DSP from The Linen Closet Stack (DCWV). I tried out additional die-cuts, embellishments, ribbons, etc. to fancy up the card, but decided in the end that less was the best look for this card.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi518mc5IPJczF14YnsKdG3a5V7jXCnNkKWhXYKTnNN1SbbwEhPqd4_0a-qUpKrgHzETaGQSTv05DGmqEcexgIkmcX4V7oQgWWgJcgJUfhmUwnQSFHty1EGbpf7_GPeHilbM-AkgkNGXcw/s1600/DSCF2955.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="321" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi518mc5IPJczF14YnsKdG3a5V7jXCnNkKWhXYKTnNN1SbbwEhPqd4_0a-qUpKrgHzETaGQSTv05DGmqEcexgIkmcX4V7oQgWWgJcgJUfhmUwnQSFHty1EGbpf7_GPeHilbM-AkgkNGXcw/s400/DSCF2955.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The sentiment is a "no name" stamp I've had for ages. The ornaments and snowflake are from Memory box glued to kraft cardstock (which was fussy cut to create a "shadow"). I added twine to the front ornaments...well, because there was twine in the Inspiration Photo.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2GMfHjy_caiHbVthODywmMEutYc4krgbWEuJfcE7dWsClAWydJ1DW1XJlqcHHH3oK9nJTSOnPSSez7KR3KUg4mgEMNBWXh90CsIaUw1rG4xm_scxjX1ySIa1z6YJfCaPtTt_DT0XKloE/s1600/DSCF2956.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2GMfHjy_caiHbVthODywmMEutYc4krgbWEuJfcE7dWsClAWydJ1DW1XJlqcHHH3oK9nJTSOnPSSez7KR3KUg4mgEMNBWXh90CsIaUw1rG4xm_scxjX1ySIa1z6YJfCaPtTt_DT0XKloE/s320/DSCF2956.JPG" width="317" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now, for the pattern. Begin with cardstock cut to 5-1/2 x 11 inches. I found it easier to cut my inside lines first, then score so I would know where to stop and start my score lines. Each cut line will be 1-1/2" from the long edge ~ you'll cut from 2" to 9". Then, score from the top to the first cut line at 2", 3-1/2", 7" and 9". Score between the 2 cut lines at 4" and 7-1/2". I then found it easier to rotate my cardstock and score from the top to the cut line at 2", 4", 7-1/2" and 9". </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Yes, the score lines may seem a bit wonky, but it works in the end. Refer to the picture below and hopefully this will clear up any confusion. I've marked the Mountain and Valley folds on the pattern also.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3ci58gxXywbGjSoK9UUm9wRgwu9NLBoWEmyVhRrqamYa7BsAKeZlW0Thc1BYam48jG1qGelrFcm5P2Hc80zB-OX8xc1hbmNlamDtIB9nfpbAwQqV0SrL1UCmcvSJrdPx5i0AnQwPEeG0/s1600/Tri+shutter+pattern.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="211" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3ci58gxXywbGjSoK9UUm9wRgwu9NLBoWEmyVhRrqamYa7BsAKeZlW0Thc1BYam48jG1qGelrFcm5P2Hc80zB-OX8xc1hbmNlamDtIB9nfpbAwQqV0SrL1UCmcvSJrdPx5i0AnQwPEeG0/s400/Tri+shutter+pattern.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The front of your card will fold up even all around ...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJxoZnuh-vMlGcmx35X2Ms3l3jjwFfrv2ZCfyZhxZSO8886tBojrL_EXlTWXB7j81e3jYkRdzVxPS_GJRxr6OoRsFzTU45qWHv8_4Ld_ECNeYpGIsSOQAqchEz43pUlDwj8aag403rzUU/s1600/DSCF2958.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="352" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJxoZnuh-vMlGcmx35X2Ms3l3jjwFfrv2ZCfyZhxZSO8886tBojrL_EXlTWXB7j81e3jYkRdzVxPS_GJRxr6OoRsFzTU45qWHv8_4Ld_ECNeYpGIsSOQAqchEz43pUlDwj8aag403rzUU/s400/DSCF2958.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
while the back of your card, when flipped over, will be 1/2" shy of matching the front ... so be sure you know which is the front and the back before you begin decorating your card.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsSfFZTGyzVKaJUBFoD21MFsLaIvBO2JCLrpVEdmOv0f6393xA98BZET0KxdMR0KPqnYCm9eI0P5-IpytEGC1c03Iz73NAPYyecJwUPy7mdA2OU32AG9EYwC4rPvzU03BJivgvJVdmS0M/s1600/DSCF2957.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsSfFZTGyzVKaJUBFoD21MFsLaIvBO2JCLrpVEdmOv0f6393xA98BZET0KxdMR0KPqnYCm9eI0P5-IpytEGC1c03Iz73NAPYyecJwUPy7mdA2OU32AG9EYwC4rPvzU03BJivgvJVdmS0M/s320/DSCF2957.JPG" width="273" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
However, as you can see in the finished card above or especially once the card is opened, you can't tell the back is a bit short.</div>

Life has dealt my hubby and me another twist the past few weeks; but I thought I would de-stress by joining my fellow <b><a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/">Christmas Card Challenges</a></b> Design Teamies. I wanted to get a little creative with a fancy fold card ~ however my original design just wasn't coming together, so I tweaked it and came up with the following card...</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3M5CKaEAjUR1LzYFLLLJ0kw-ViQvcacdh8vOLBJC8nDGwIBXh3ECwuDWAHKSTxVSO5PI5WVt32lMf9FGhsu3lNstxpiLKbsNjmtuvIP-pD8DRtIZcmnGx74yujz4-N-Nr-Lae2utyslQ/s1600/DSCF2944.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="292" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3M5CKaEAjUR1LzYFLLLJ0kw-ViQvcacdh8vOLBJC8nDGwIBXh3ECwuDWAHKSTxVSO5PI5WVt32lMf9FGhsu3lNstxpiLKbsNjmtuvIP-pD8DRtIZcmnGx74yujz4-N-Nr-Lae2utyslQ/s400/DSCF2944.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
...based on the following <b><a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/">Color Challenge</a></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used the peachy-rose, taupe and aqua blue colors in the color palette. The card folds to 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" so it fits in a standard A2 envelope.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The digi-stamp is from <b><a href="http://www.digistampboutique.co.uk/catalog/">Digistamp Boutique</a></b> (Simply for Christmas) and the sentiment is self-created, which I printed in taupe. The snowflakes are <b><a href="http://www.whimsystamps.com/">Whimsy Stamps</a></b> dies.</div>

Have you missed me? I have certainly missed all of you. It's been a crazy month, but hopefully everything is back to normal (whatever "normal" is) and I'll be posting cards and tutorials once again.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I wasn't sure what to do for the Challenge this week at <b><a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/">Christmas Card Challenges</a></b>. It's a Photo Challenge and it really had me stumped until I happened upon a stamp that I bought last year but never inked up. Am I the only one that forgets what they have in their stash?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's the Photo Challenge:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/"><img border="0" height="228" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvzyWuSMKNW9T_3P22vtDCWVLstPHYMZT0P8eUfOgpP4FyJpD59Xcll5evuEszt1J_o9BNURcdcxlF5nFj2mHniz03ICJh-lqUqBu8Iqgi-5oOHrUBNge_24rsrI4L6mzc5HpKLVdf2X8/s320/Week+10.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And here's my take on it:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh93vh1Vrwl3YMgu9um5Os7a2Zfdppk1RyIDBfX9tSRSRQvGVos-yymb2PYWf3zDf6xrr4JxuHaeFL7CB9bk11wCWC9g487-i7eaoPyg9bW7gIjGMAM6vSdTAUU0KGa-qDO0n_0Ut0Cv4c/s1600/Heather+%252310.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh93vh1Vrwl3YMgu9um5Os7a2Zfdppk1RyIDBfX9tSRSRQvGVos-yymb2PYWf3zDf6xrr4JxuHaeFL7CB9bk11wCWC9g487-i7eaoPyg9bW7gIjGMAM6vSdTAUU0KGa-qDO0n_0Ut0Cv4c/s400/Heather+%252310.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
At first, I was going to sponge white cardstock with various shades of blue. Then it hit me ... use blue cardstock and sponge the stars with my White Craft Ink (Stampin' Up) and add bit of sponging to the center. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJnMvWuytzQQP0dnyS-oE8PCywXGONLlImlCd6vPeJgSm7T74IP2-_pdqo_1xnJNUrk459pkupJ2tSelg4mYW3-xk_3rc2k28p2xFrDITqIY8YGvw3p2fQ73WPbloW6AD2lOHgpvGzC-I/s1600/DSCF2926.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJnMvWuytzQQP0dnyS-oE8PCywXGONLlImlCd6vPeJgSm7T74IP2-_pdqo_1xnJNUrk459pkupJ2tSelg4mYW3-xk_3rc2k28p2xFrDITqIY8YGvw3p2fQ73WPbloW6AD2lOHgpvGzC-I/s400/DSCF2926.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I didn't have Santa and his sleigh, but since this was a Christmas stamp (I blocked the Merry Christmas sentiment on the stamp), I think it works. The white in the middle looks like the horses are kicking up a whole lot of snow. Not that I remember snow since I've been in sunny, warm Florida for the past 15+ years. Somehow, I don't think snow can be "kicked up" but it's my story so I'm going with it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0XoK-TCx5fTq9J2x5vK55E6XB8WF9MIBCUeU54UjemOcsAIwvDXv0giu1i0fOQ5z7uye4wAKJJG31aLWv3JZK0wZoKDrt2jves73SpPQxo4HfhiOiR21mpd1estdCnAzDH_QFbpRHMNI/s1600/DSCF2925.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0XoK-TCx5fTq9J2x5vK55E6XB8WF9MIBCUeU54UjemOcsAIwvDXv0giu1i0fOQ5z7uye4wAKJJG31aLWv3JZK0wZoKDrt2jves73SpPQxo4HfhiOiR21mpd1estdCnAzDH_QFbpRHMNI/s400/DSCF2925.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I created the crescent moon by punching a 3/4" circle and taping it to the punched hole just a bit off to the side. I sponged the moon using Craft White and Daffodil Delight to give it a bit of yellow shimmer. I added a touch of Wink of Stella to all the stars for some sparkle. After all, stars do twinkle.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The inside is finished with white cardstock matted onto black and the "Merry Christmas to All" sentiment from the stamp.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

Happy New Year to all my blog followers and especially my newest Bloglovin' follower, Chris B (btw, your cards are AMAZING Chris).<br />
<br />
I can't believe how fast the past two weeks flew by. I'm so glad the <a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/">Christmas Card Challenges</a> Design Team was able to take a little break; but now we're back at it full-force.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Each week, the challenge is to create a holiday or Christmas card. There'll also be an optional challenge. At the end of the week, the Design Team will select the Weekly Winner and the Top Three from all entries. <br />
<br />
This week it's an optional Color Challenge.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/"><img border="0" height="228" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3mYcV5JQaxCUZGU6SrRqI7zfcJ7Ip1ScAMGYuxV9UkckcWv5kq-Q8zBKlOC7Iw6fHs6A7l-n2II-3CXNo7jRrNdfp7O42pWyYZ47S2y8T1MarrbzN_WnFuH4bqcX_QGFcn2bph6uRR1A/s320/Week+5.jpg" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
I really needed several Christmas Thank You Cards and the color challenge worked perfectly.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw7YV2k9x2gN4X67xUNNe266xEy2Lxhz3mFSiBS92iCINs1WR0N9OYo1VoT5afy6Tr2o1eEMn3UKPHdI-eg_Qcd0GS_LWsA7B-TGAqltfX1vq4W1QhBwN79vD73bBpfrLtwzLzZ4dn-50/s400/Heather+%2523+5.jpg" width="312" /></a><br />
<br />
Although you can't tell by the picture, the dark grey (it looks black) and the burgundy are shimmer cardstock. So is the silver/grey die cut "thanks" (Simon Says Stamp!). I stamped the snowflake onto the silver/grey shimmer cardstock and heat embossed it with Smoky Slate Stampin' Up! Embossing Powder. The snowflake stamp and die cut are Festive Flurry by Stampin' Up!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi76ruhTbWf06H-rkPFOY93K6dKUOi-B4KZlOfHJHjZ0VpnrOZ4lT5pxWT740zUZI-tB6JcZEjxtGI1umxUYOJ4e3-DDx5-7v2oNvYnhSy60F9tJRqB7AbTg3upOFV6PhzbwPRsyGOJH8k/s1600/DSCF2906.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi76ruhTbWf06H-rkPFOY93K6dKUOi-B4KZlOfHJHjZ0VpnrOZ4lT5pxWT740zUZI-tB6JcZEjxtGI1umxUYOJ4e3-DDx5-7v2oNvYnhSy60F9tJRqB7AbTg3upOFV6PhzbwPRsyGOJH8k/s320/DSCF2906.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
Stop by the <a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/">Christmas Card Challenges blog</a> to see what the other Design Team members created this week. I realize Christmas just ended, but what a perfect time to get started on cards for 2016 . . . before you put all your Christmas crafting items away.<br />
<br /></div>

Yes, I know ... we are at <b>Week 1 </b>and Christmas isn't even here yet . But, your cards really should be done for this year and either in the mail or just about ready. So, over at <b><a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/">Christmas Card Challenges</a></b>, we're already starting on <b>next </b>year's cards. Yes, no break for the weary.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I went with a very CAS design (for me) because when I saw the Photo Challenge, this card came to mind.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcpmqEdS6rySEsqOEXzEQ-Fm2PAh09Swm_kV9pAeKfVcy_jyV2dk-bYAF_i-nPUHIj7xsCsoXDeKF_4lQlF713zN6Mut-e6YztA96aF53WCvwH8jKXUhnxc2EYXECs_YUZvho75qVRqVw/s1600/DSCF2897.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcpmqEdS6rySEsqOEXzEQ-Fm2PAh09Swm_kV9pAeKfVcy_jyV2dk-bYAF_i-nPUHIj7xsCsoXDeKF_4lQlF713zN6Mut-e6YztA96aF53WCvwH8jKXUhnxc2EYXECs_YUZvho75qVRqVw/s400/DSCF2897.JPG" width="306" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And here's the Challenge information ~ although remember, the only real Challenge is you must make a holiday or Christmas Card (or tag).</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqqdOLsbnI8QA63quo6UJUm-6vBzZMXBMgehlLKcr9WXtVr14F4t1UmDeiy9B5ZvOZvBBJ6-60fhMUTUYXU_pIKEkMZwQ9PVjKpicLR140TCL3OrxF1Y7LOB81bvN_H740QdChk9vb9wg/s1600/Week+1.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="229" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqqdOLsbnI8QA63quo6UJUm-6vBzZMXBMgehlLKcr9WXtVr14F4t1UmDeiy9B5ZvOZvBBJ6-60fhMUTUYXU_pIKEkMZwQ9PVjKpicLR140TCL3OrxF1Y7LOB81bvN_H740QdChk9vb9wg/s320/Week+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
See the teeny, tiny black belt on those nails? Yup, that's where my inspiration came from. To get the belt buckle, I used a square die for the outer edge, then used a small rectangle die for the two inside rectangles ... I didn't trust my xacto knife skills since I haven't really "crafted" in over 2 months and this worked.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcpmqEdS6rySEsqOEXzEQ-Fm2PAh09Swm_kV9pAeKfVcy_jyV2dk-bYAF_i-nPUHIj7xsCsoXDeKF_4lQlF713zN6Mut-e6YztA96aF53WCvwH8jKXUhnxc2EYXECs_YUZvho75qVRqVw/s1600/DSCF2897.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcpmqEdS6rySEsqOEXzEQ-Fm2PAh09Swm_kV9pAeKfVcy_jyV2dk-bYAF_i-nPUHIj7xsCsoXDeKF_4lQlF713zN6Mut-e6YztA96aF53WCvwH8jKXUhnxc2EYXECs_YUZvho75qVRqVw/s400/DSCF2897.JPG" width="306" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The word bubble I cut using Cricut eons ago and the stamp came from ?? I think the dollar bin at some hobby/craft store.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

It felt so good to get back to cardmaking and working in my Craft Studio/Room. I never realized how much an illness can knock one down.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
With Christmas just right around the corner, I hope you'll join us this week at Christmas Card Challenges. It's an <b><span style="font-size: large;">Anything Goes</span></b> theme, so grab your Christmas items and join in.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I added some ribbon and clear crystals, which in hindsight look more like ice than snow.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And since I had the supplies out, I created another card. These Art Pads make cardmaking SO easy.</div>

I'm so sorry that I've been absent for so long. In September, I came down with Shingles and while the rash disappeared overnight due to the anti-viral drugs, the nerve pain continued for 5 weeks. And it just happened to be in my neck, shoulder and collarbone . . . just the areas that make you feel like you have a constant neck/shoulder ache. It wasn't fun.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(Side note: no, I didn't get the Shingles Vaccine; my doctor said I was too young ... and I was healthy ... and I wouldn't be a candidate to get shingles ... and ... famous last words, right?)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm just getting back to where I can focus on cardmaking and sitting at my work table for any length of time. However, our Community's Annual Art & Craft Fair is this Saturday, and I'm the Chairperson. Since I fell behind on my responsibilities during those 5 weeks, and right now I can only work a few hours a day without the nerve pain returning, I had to focus all my energies on this event the past two weeks. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But, beginning next week, I'll be back to blogging and sharing crafting projects with you. Stay tuned.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hugs,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

This week at <a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/">Christmas Card Challenges</a> we have a Photo Challenge for you ~ Nighttime Tree. I hope you'll play along, because you know you need more Christmas Cards...and Christmas is just right around the corner.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used Navy cardstock to mimic the dark background. I sprinkled crystal and blue glitter using <a href="http://www.papercraftingfromtheheart.blogspot.com/2015/04/happy-easter.html"><b>this technique</b></a>. In hindsight, I should have stamped the sentiment first and embossed it, but I didn't so I just stamped JOY in Craft White Ink and called it a day.</div>

It's a sad day for me. This is my final post as a <b><a href="http://www.doodlepantry.com/">Doodle Pantry</a></b> Design Team Member. Things are just a bit crazy right now for me and Laurie gave all of us the option of staying on for another term or "retiring." Since I wasn't sure I'd be able to fulfill my responsibilities as I'd like, I decided to step down.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But, since you know how much I love <b><a href="http://www.doodlepantry.com/">Doodle Pantry</a></b> digital images, this won't be my last project using <b><a href="http://www.doodlepantry.com/">Doodle Pantry</a></b> papers or images.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmvawH_iCjUsu4UN6qLrgBIQcNgCXz0kM51cnWRtHbPnBp6JU0vi8DL4u7veChjMCs3O9KBJC7aJA5bPQ4BGnsw52W_O-Y4VU7ss3oo27u0h49MDZoh_LQA8Db7Oqy3w7IugYuzWqAoRQ/s1600/DSCF2861.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmvawH_iCjUsu4UN6qLrgBIQcNgCXz0kM51cnWRtHbPnBp6JU0vi8DL4u7veChjMCs3O9KBJC7aJA5bPQ4BGnsw52W_O-Y4VU7ss3oo27u0h49MDZoh_LQA8Db7Oqy3w7IugYuzWqAoRQ/s320/DSCF2861.png" width="255" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used flowers from the <b><a href="http://doodlepantry.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage_images.tpl&product_id=945&category_id=31&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=11">Joyful Day</a></b> set. Printed on vellum, it allows the image and votive light to shine through the lantern.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBk2IQoqjuokrmh-zVevKNcFstcwPBR7y0lq_JMi2grJFCewv8RiUIt3DBAbW2UzV6bQkWH8WWgGiVAsjkJPwDp0sxE31BaWSlkzb5G1j1XJ25qQIeuvw3A4sX0O09-ftdT0vFp24Tr-A/s1600/DSCF2853.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBk2IQoqjuokrmh-zVevKNcFstcwPBR7y0lq_JMi2grJFCewv8RiUIt3DBAbW2UzV6bQkWH8WWgGiVAsjkJPwDp0sxE31BaWSlkzb5G1j1XJ25qQIeuvw3A4sX0O09-ftdT0vFp24Tr-A/s320/DSCF2853.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The shimmery pink cardstock is 12" x 6" ~ I went with 6" tall so it would fit through my die cutting machine. Each side is scored at 2-7/8" so I had a "tab" at the end.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Score tape all around the openings makes for easy placement of the vellum pieces.</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I didn't want the votive to be seen through the "legs" so I created a "ledge" and everything lined up on my first try. That does not happen very often ... believe me !</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I glued (taped) 3 sides before sealing the side of the lantern and the final side of the ledge</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Using <b><a href="http://www.doodlepantry.com/">Doodle Pantry</a></b> pre-colored images allowed me to finish this project in under 2 hours from start to finish. </div>

I'd like to welcome Pamela Harris and Teri Mosby to my blog. They are recent Bloglovin' subscribers.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The weeks are ticking by and before you know it, your Christmas cards will have to be mailed. Do you have all of yours done yet? If not, grab your cardmaking supplies and join the <b><a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/">Christmas Card Challenges</a></b> crew to get at least one more card completed. After all, this week theme is:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Anything Goes</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Due to personal reasons I wasn't able to make a card this week so a friend, <b>Patti Widerman</b>, stepped in for me to create my DT sample card. I'm blessed to have so many talented friends that will help me out in a pinch ~ and since none of them have their own blog, I'm able to showcase their beautiful work here.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyg1t94toPhvSZuwO0sjJ4mDA1_xCuV5lPtFqJoJ-9N5Pyiu4Aqu5rQfpGBvTp80Edu6HStO5IbtwNccqRpHS8AxPpNosRIdI72TmfO1atCC_Ul5vTzTKI2StixtEWIBG0782EPMAsYwQ/s1600/DSCF2843.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyg1t94toPhvSZuwO0sjJ4mDA1_xCuV5lPtFqJoJ-9N5Pyiu4Aqu5rQfpGBvTp80Edu6HStO5IbtwNccqRpHS8AxPpNosRIdI72TmfO1atCC_Ul5vTzTKI2StixtEWIBG0782EPMAsYwQ/s400/DSCF2843.JPG" width="292" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The card decoration is made from 6 double sided hexagon pieces (Stampin' Up! punch). How cute is this!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The front is embossed with a snowflake EF and the snowflakes were accented with white gel pen, mini flowers and pearls.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOJJ9aexA5UiBCwHTtn8leTqFVQi7cGDEK8kSl-q7eYq-a9bbWO_DrHu5_FFW1UmuvL1PDWsj_KwCQXDk-kqUPvgc93YyIaIPkKdYCFaF3VgyZdZs_xwQjyZXQpU1tAR_yCI-q7gxoYwY/s1600/DSCF2841.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOJJ9aexA5UiBCwHTtn8leTqFVQi7cGDEK8kSl-q7eYq-a9bbWO_DrHu5_FFW1UmuvL1PDWsj_KwCQXDk-kqUPvgc93YyIaIPkKdYCFaF3VgyZdZs_xwQjyZXQpU1tAR_yCI-q7gxoYwY/s400/DSCF2841.JPG" width="337" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Are you wondering about the "trees" in the background? These are handmade from cardstock cones that are wrapped with yarn. Since I didn't have any thick yarn, I took 3-4 strands of regular yarn, twisted the strands together and glued it to the cardstock cone. So fun to make. If you make your own cones, you can make them any size and they cost next to nothing to make. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Note: Since the yarn is placed tight to the previous row, you don't see the cardstock pattern/color from the front ... only if you look inside the cone. So, it's a great way to use up your strange cardstock patterns or colors that you know you'll never use.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Stop by <a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/"><b>Christmas Card Challenges</b></a> to see what the other Design Team members created. Then, grab your cardmaking supplies and join along. I love to see what you create.</div>

Several weeks ago my card was picked as a Top 3 for a <b><a href="http://sendasmile4kidschallenge.blogspot.com/">Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge</a></b> (check it out <b><i><a href="http://www.papercraftingfromtheheart.blogspot.com/2015/07/happy-birthday-little-princess.html">here</a></i></b>). </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
With that recognition, I was asked if I wanted to be a future <b>Guest Designer</b> ~ well, HELLO!! Who wouldn't want to be?! This is a wonderful organization full of wonderful people who dedicate their time and talents to collecting (and making) donated handmade cards to be distributed to children while they're inpatient at Children's Hospitals across the U.S. and Canada.</div>

I have a project to share with you today that's been in the works for several weeks now. Not that it's taken me that long to finish it, but life just got in the way and I had to set it aside for a couple weeks.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Most of my cards / paper projects tend to lean toward the "girly" side. So I thought I would change it up and make something for a "boy." Really now, what boy doesn't love cars, right? This project was a blast to make. I didn't take pictures along the way, but I'll try my best to explain how I created this project.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Since <b><a href="http://www.doodlepantry.com/">Doodle Pantry</a></b> has LOTS of car images~ I mean LOTS of car images... I couldn't pick just one ... I decided to create a project that used just about ALL of them. Hence, I came up with,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Bingo Tic-Tac-Toe</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>The object of the game is to cover 3 cars in a row (just like "Tic-Tac-Toe"). However, since each card has a few different cars on them and the same cars are in different locations, it makes it more like "Bingo" but with no "Free Space."</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXHBnxtEtWYOasOIO66e2mD-Rd9CIO-gFmhFj6_8SQynLSSNuC0O4zXoAAeJbQIKCJiW4U0En1WiA7T5sWY9gHbSSPi2p7Ke38mVzfinNH31h5MyTnWR_xGmKrhAixDbKy9EzoUSQSYNE/s1600/DSCF2845.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="323" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXHBnxtEtWYOasOIO66e2mD-Rd9CIO-gFmhFj6_8SQynLSSNuC0O4zXoAAeJbQIKCJiW4U0En1WiA7T5sWY9gHbSSPi2p7Ke38mVzfinNH31h5MyTnWR_xGmKrhAixDbKy9EzoUSQSYNE/s400/DSCF2845.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="text-align: center;">To make my life easier, I used all pre-colored digis. I love that you get B&W line art AND color images with each </span><b style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.doodlepantry.com/">Doodle Pantry</a></b><span style="text-align: center;"> set. It saves a lot of time on a project this big.</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Each Card has 9 car images ~ there were 13 to chose from (I only used 1 "Bug" car image) ~ so I mixed up the images on all 4 cards. Yes, you only see one Card here, the other 3 are just about completed, but I wanted to get this post done.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk9urhlQdacxMzRB4mwE4P77qVhSfd_12slOGMq2EE0wLYwCRYjmNfkWxMcQLh5pCb8C4VqAUxckf1OLU2Hng04mg2DScTdSbYtjyI_yC0QYFuWMbNzDk_TJBmAPhIcyud0iyU2Bg_ols/s1600/DSCF2850.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="303" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk9urhlQdacxMzRB4mwE4P77qVhSfd_12slOGMq2EE0wLYwCRYjmNfkWxMcQLh5pCb8C4VqAUxckf1OLU2Hng04mg2DScTdSbYtjyI_yC0QYFuWMbNzDk_TJBmAPhIcyud0iyU2Bg_ols/s400/DSCF2850.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used Photo Editing software to create the grid on the digital paper from the <b><a href="http://doodlepantry.com/shop.html?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage_images.tpl&product_id=973&category_id=31">Classic Bug & Gas Can</a></b> set. The grid piece is 4-3/4" square. The cars were punched with a 1-1/2" square punch. I rounded the corners and sponged the edges to set it off from the background paper. This piece is matted onto Navy cardstock. I'm debating about laminating the Cards, but haven't decided yet.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6x4DHoV5QsS-9Om-fcEVw_wpa-pV_Oz37TfzBzAxxTQEgyeS93owe7yEhbobnYhoEITN-F7V8Re1qGhcDjd0z0yCEt5NsNr7CswQqbZeGKCxLfOlJckq40unlDpd3hp9_-QLSWFvYHHU/s1600/DSCF2851.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="252" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6x4DHoV5QsS-9Om-fcEVw_wpa-pV_Oz37TfzBzAxxTQEgyeS93owe7yEhbobnYhoEITN-F7V8Re1qGhcDjd0z0yCEt5NsNr7CswQqbZeGKCxLfOlJckq40unlDpd3hp9_-QLSWFvYHHU/s320/DSCF2851.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The "Call" tags (I'm not sure what to call them) have a car image on one side and "What a gas!" sentiment, surrounded by a dotted circle, on the other. I used a 1-1/2" circle punch for the car image, then sponged the edges. Using my light table, I glued the punched car to the back of the sentiments I had printed on an 8-1/2" x 11" piece of white cardstock. Then the entire sheet was laminated. I used a 1-3/4" circle punch to punch out the "Call" tags. Note: Because the car image is a smaller circle, the lamination won't separate.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSdxc0NQbqrcpEBVeB3lN5kO7wkhyJ6pT3hCrkqZWXmLEUMCzXpg0Mh0vhXth0NJ7JnRNZ-e0sY_8vx7p5MsizSV-g24SNRlzoTclv00Hrcp8izo0INpONUlDJLBYRwafj7qRf1iD_wHE/s1600/DSCF2852.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSdxc0NQbqrcpEBVeB3lN5kO7wkhyJ6pT3hCrkqZWXmLEUMCzXpg0Mh0vhXth0NJ7JnRNZ-e0sY_8vx7p5MsizSV-g24SNRlzoTclv00Hrcp8izo0INpONUlDJLBYRwafj7qRf1iD_wHE/s320/DSCF2852.JPG" width="308" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
To play the game, the car image is placed face down and the tags are selected one at a time. If it matches a car on your card, you cover that image with a:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b style="font-size: x-large;">Marker Tag ~ aka Petroleum Can</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I printed a sheet of gas cans, laminated the sheet and used a 1-3/8" circle to punch these out.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I hope you've enjoyed seeing this project as much as I enjoyed creating it.</div>

Things have been a bit hectic for me the past two weeks; so, this card is a bit late on my blog. But there's still plenty of time to join in this week's <b><a href="http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com/">Christmas Card Challenges #37 ~ White on White challenge</a></b>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

The "Joy" die cut (Stampin' Up!) is actually shimmer white cardstock, although I think it looks a bit grey/silver in the photo.</div>

I was inspired today by three Challenges. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
First inspiration came from <b><a href="http://sendasmile4kidschallenge.blogspot.com/">Send a Smile 4 Kids</a></b> and their CAS challenge (all cards must be for children). I created 4 cards so I can add them to my box of cards for this group that does so much to brighten a child's day.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The other inspiration came from two "Anything Goes" Challenges:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><a href="http://qkrstampede.blogspot.com/">QKR Stampede</a></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><a href="http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com/">Word Art Wednesday</a></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBjPvBYaLPmAlK_J0qtqqQqBx2TSQKXBNaVV6iu1LjqXsK9nYm9p86df7uUgTjQFtlQtnhbTHh4auGufRejnT98AnMHQmtzEr_METwigzW17DPLJ8BHyLDJFhJaDp4Sgz88lteN3jeLIQ/s1600/DSCF2822.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="222" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBjPvBYaLPmAlK_J0qtqqQqBx2TSQKXBNaVV6iu1LjqXsK9nYm9p86df7uUgTjQFtlQtnhbTHh4auGufRejnT98AnMHQmtzEr_METwigzW17DPLJ8BHyLDJFhJaDp4Sgz88lteN3jeLIQ/s400/DSCF2822.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I even remembered to take pictures along the way to show you my process in creating these cards. So, sit back and enjoy.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Since one is a CAS challenge, I thought I'd keep it simple by embossing the cardstock image using this plastic shim:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzfB4VExkcUtOR3WNLfk-pFTnlmNm2nlnIyZaOpL1G5CdT6pPWpKMHluTAZK5QPx1P-6pgD6WdyjxrnioB3PapNtUS_4IjG-smr8ZwsnTAqJwmxksKkkzJbrc3aVJxJAcb7dLqW4EFLrU/s1600/DSCF2818.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="280" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzfB4VExkcUtOR3WNLfk-pFTnlmNm2nlnIyZaOpL1G5CdT6pPWpKMHluTAZK5QPx1P-6pgD6WdyjxrnioB3PapNtUS_4IjG-smr8ZwsnTAqJwmxksKkkzJbrc3aVJxJAcb7dLqW4EFLrU/s320/DSCF2818.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But, the oval in the shim didn't match the Spellbinder's oval dies I had. I know I could have made my own "shim," but at the time, that seemed like work. So I improvised. I printed the pre-colored image (<b><a href="http://doodlepantry.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage_images.tpl&product_id=513&category_id=31&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=11">Doodle pantry Poodles of Fun</a></b>) 4 up on a page. Then I cut an oval out of the 4" x 5-1/4" cardstock using the oval die. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK8p2zPsGK2lgQDkNumQMeUMS5eSiGuosRPg0fqLyFOVawBR1gQ2LuKh8MRXBnjrtRmQnWlkUv6PFuxqc6DrvjOzuDQHllJFttYWP4yYKU5zdj5HDeF5448giLF528p1JdgdnXSLOS-Fg/s1600/DSCF2815.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK8p2zPsGK2lgQDkNumQMeUMS5eSiGuosRPg0fqLyFOVawBR1gQ2LuKh8MRXBnjrtRmQnWlkUv6PFuxqc6DrvjOzuDQHllJFttYWP4yYKU5zdj5HDeF5448giLF528p1JdgdnXSLOS-Fg/s320/DSCF2815.JPG" width="249" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipM2NZkgazECbBoht07yNZpN0AUaXaehgqVB-0UJ-9CRdwPQJd_M4BvdAsO0_bh619E4v5YeU88svOKmkCoYEl5APcLLLB4SKnwDWx3XWgkfPTdUACG5eyKvlUj3imPwuN4BYBN8mEpPU/s1600/DSCF2816.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipM2NZkgazECbBoht07yNZpN0AUaXaehgqVB-0UJ-9CRdwPQJd_M4BvdAsO0_bh619E4v5YeU88svOKmkCoYEl5APcLLLB4SKnwDWx3XWgkfPTdUACG5eyKvlUj3imPwuN4BYBN8mEpPU/s320/DSCF2816.JPG" width="314" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next, I embossed just the outer piece.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-cJBQgI-O01dMjYvh_sSFmeqlLBWFAzCsCuvCR8Lgx411jIfxVthl2IMzX9hAFdA0C305kxc4hB_qHnaMhXJXQ7q5qlqeRncXofo1KnHCow4D63RshCk0xohXnAUB0xs2SzOngQi-msw/s1600/DSCF2817.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-cJBQgI-O01dMjYvh_sSFmeqlLBWFAzCsCuvCR8Lgx411jIfxVthl2IMzX9hAFdA0C305kxc4hB_qHnaMhXJXQ7q5qlqeRncXofo1KnHCow4D63RshCk0xohXnAUB0xs2SzOngQi-msw/s320/DSCF2817.JPG" width="315" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I glued the embossed piece to a white card. Then glued the oval image back where it belonged.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4LcP89nI3rJa6saR5J0Ft7POLWaBPBH-q1V2_qdWG2_8SCIQT7NSdly2tB62IoZpBV9WEZov2EMBrvwaUsfgJQqq4VifYl0CGYVyufVZiyqatqpYcOvpUquCRalD4mobJiu9LYYI21tk/s1600/DSCF2819.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4LcP89nI3rJa6saR5J0Ft7POLWaBPBH-q1V2_qdWG2_8SCIQT7NSdly2tB62IoZpBV9WEZov2EMBrvwaUsfgJQqq4VifYl0CGYVyufVZiyqatqpYcOvpUquCRalD4mobJiu9LYYI21tk/s320/DSCF2819.JPG" width="235" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next, I used the next smaller and next larger ovals (I have both oval sets) to create the "frame."</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-kYpqt6JxRD145QsIBifJ8YKcmdLYP9sCYUeBrXnSnytv2OxPKgzGiWrYB_HAB-l_cIWRIeWZxXEUX60ThqKkwBF_iPfddjGMNaSd65cQMR4ufuRTS6W_jTK2nRB-omRJQUcS3O10m8s/s1600/DSCF2814.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="259" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-kYpqt6JxRD145QsIBifJ8YKcmdLYP9sCYUeBrXnSnytv2OxPKgzGiWrYB_HAB-l_cIWRIeWZxXEUX60ThqKkwBF_iPfddjGMNaSd65cQMR4ufuRTS6W_jTK2nRB-omRJQUcS3O10m8s/s320/DSCF2814.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Using the 3 different sizes of oval dies places the "frame" right over the center cut line...so you don't have to worry about seeing an embossed or cut edge. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The sentiment is a personal creation and I've included it for download at the end of this post. </div>
