Is May Over Yet?

What a month it's been.  Hubby went in the hospital with pneumonia;  I've had to work his days and my own at the golf course; trying to get cards done for the various Design Teams; we just bought a new house; and, I'm dealing with either ulcers or gall bladder . . . not sure which one I want it to be, but I'll hopefully find out Monday.

With all that's been going on, I almost forgot about the two progressive challenges I love to do each month. I've had the images and sentiments printed since the first week in May and they sat on my desk waiting to be finished.  I scrambled last night to finish them. Now I have to finish two other cards that are due in the next hour.

From the Heart Stamps ~ I used the B&W line art from Whimsy Garden Fence and colored it with Copics.  I embossed the patchwork front using the Cuttlebug "With Gratitude" embossing folder.

I used the sentiment from the set on the inside.

Imagine That! Digis by Kris ~ I used the color version from "Happy Mother's Day," but highlighted the pink areas with a pink Copic.  The DSP is from the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm Paper Pad.

The sentiment came with the "Happy Mother's Day" set.

Well, I can't believe it's almost June. Some fun and exciting things this month so I hope you stop back often to see what I have for you this month.  And, hopefully no bad news.

Keep Crafting !

It's a Beautiful Day

What a gorgeous two days we've had. Low humidity and low-er temps. Perfect Spring weather. Which leads me to my card for today. Flowers remind me of Spring . . . so I'm sharing a "flower" card with you.

I used two Doodle Pantry digital images: Watering Can and Petite Bouquet. Using the .png files, I combined the two images so it appears as if the flowers are in the watering can.  You don't need fancy picture editing software to work with digital images . . . I did it all using MS Word.

I used the B&W line art rather than the color image.  I decided to pull out the colored pencils for this card rather than my Copics. Sometimes we just need to go back to the basics.

And with digital images, why waste an entire sheet of cardstock printing just one?  Print several and make a couple extra cards.  What a perfect image for birthday, get well, sympathy, thank you or just because.

Note: You have one more week to link up with Doodle Pantry's Monthly Challenge. There's a prize being offered and if you use a Doodle Pantry image (there are several free ones available), you'll receive Classic Cars 2 for free.

Vroom!

Have you checked out all the wonderful new digital sets this month at Doodle Pantry?  So many wonderful images for all occasions, but I especially like the "masculine" sets this month.

I used the color image that came with the Motorcycle Mania set and didn't even go over it with Copics this time.  Doodle Pantry has beautiful, colored images that make it fast and easy to create a card.

A friend recently purchased a Harley. He's so excited and Hubby and I were excited for him, so we had to celebrate this new milestone in his life . . . and what better way than with a motorcycle card. {smile}

The DSP is also part of the Motorcycle Mania set. The sentiment is a stamp I purchased from the dollar bin at Michael's years ago.

Remember, if you join the Monthly Doodle Pantry Challenge and use a Doodle Pantry image (not just a sentiment) you'll receive Classic Cars 2 for free.

And, if you purchase Motorcycle Mania (or any other DP item) by May 24, you'll receive Buffalo & Caribou for free.

Crafty Creations #263

I'm hosting the Challenge this week at Crafty Creations

It's a Recipe Challenge. You must use at least two (2) of the following:

Flowers  ~  Die-Cut  ~  Ribbon  ~  Purple

I couldn't decide, so I used 3 . . . Flowers, Ribbon and the color Purple

We're sponsored by San's Design and I used one of their images.

I added a sentiment from Doodle Pantry to the "wood plank" and colored it with Copics.  It's such a pretty purple, not sure why the purple in my photos has to look more blue than deep purple.

Another Christmas Card

Two Christmas cards in a row. Amazing. Actually, this card should have been posted last week. Something went haywire with my computer . . . it never got posted . . . hubby was in the hospital (he's out now). . . I had to work 5 days (remember I am semi-retired and not used to working that many days) . . . and life just got in the way of me checking to make sure it went live when it was supposed to.  So, here is another Christmas card inspiration for you.

A very simple Christmas card to make. I took a tree digital image (from Shelley's Images) and copied it, shrunk and enlarged it to create 3 trees. Then, I copied & pasted the 3 trees. I flipped the pasted image so it would mirror the original. Then I colored the branches of the top image green, while leaving the "mirrored" image grey/black."

Get started on your Christmas cards now and this Fall you'll be grateful you did.

Christmas Card Challenges: #24 Embossing

It's the beginning of another week so we have a new challenge at
This week the theme is:
Embossing
**You can use dry or heat embossing

Remember, one more Christmas card done today is one less Christmas card you'll have to make in November (or December).

I embossed only the left side of this card. The sentiment was stamped eons ago (I found it in my "use this stuff this year" pile).

I love this embossing folder. It's so versatile and elegant with the pearls added.

Stop by the Christmas Card Challenges blog to see what the other Design Team members created this week. Then, get out your paper crafting supplies and join along. You know you want to {smile}.

You Can Do Anything

I made this card for someone a few weeks ago and still haven't sent it out due to unforeseen circumstances. Hubby is finally home from the hospital;  hopefully I'll be able to spend the next few days crafting my little heart away . . . since I need to make a few "Thank You" cards anyway.

The alligator and DSP are from Doodle Pantry ~ Critter Tales. I fussy-cut around the gator and popped her/him up with dimensionals. I added a few embossed circles since I thought the embossing folder looked a bit like alligator skin.

I went over the color digi with Copics since I actually had the right greens and yellows.  The sentiment is from TLC Creations.

I added a strip of the DSP and an embossed circle on the inside to mimic the front of the card. The sentiment is a stamp I've had for awhile.

Stop by the Doodle Pantry Blog. There's still time to play in the monthly challenge~enter using a Doodle Pantry image and you'll receive Classic Cars 2 free. Purchase any Doodle Pantry item through May 24 and receive Buffalo & Caribou free.

Doodle Pantry New Releases for May

There are over 15 beautiful digital sets being released this month at Doodle Pantry. Laurie created several sets that can be used for those masculine cards that we always seem to need. I thought I'd share two cards I made using the Buffalo and Caribou Set and the Classic Cars 2 Set.

If you enter this month's Challenge (DPDC46) and use any Doodle Pantry image (not just a sentiment), then you'll receive the Classic Cars 2 Set for FREE. The Challenge is open later today and runs until May 24. Check out the Doodle Pantry Blog for Challenge guidelines and more details.

I used DSP from the set and the color image, although went over the image with Copics (I tend to do this a lot~mainly because I'm not as proficient in coloring as I wish I was).

I carried the card design to the inside also. I think I may add an additional sentiment . . . maybe "You're a Classic" or "You're never to old to have fun."  Depends on who I give it to.

I'm entering the above card in Bugaboo's Stella Says Sketch Challenge #208. I turned the sketch sideways.

The Buffalo and Caribou Set is FREE with any other purchase until May 24th. Buy any set, old or new, and you'll receive the Buffalo and Caribou Set for FREE.

My husband has been sick for several weeks and I wanted to make a special card for him--he doesn't get too many for some reason. He laughed when I gave it to him; I'm just thrilled that he actually "got" it and thought it was funny and nice.  I used DSP from the set, but the sentiment is my own and computer-generated.

I used the color image, but unintentionally lightened it too much, so a lot of the coloring is my own using Copics.

Since this was a get well card for hubby, I added that sentiment to the inside.

Be sure to check out the Doodle Pantry store (click here) to see all the new releases this month ~ I'll feature a couple of them throughout the month on my blog. And stop by the Doodle Pantry Blog for all the details on this month's Challenge.
