Just a Card

Nothing much to write about today . . . actually, not much "time" to write anything.  I'm getting the final details, papers, items, etc. ready for our community's Annual Art & Craft Fair. Only a little over a week to go.  I may be the chairperson, but I have a HUGE support system.  The Craft Club members really rally together to pull off a wonderful event.  And our community has the best artists and crafters around - - I can't wait to see all their creations.  However, I'll be happy when I can get back to my crafting.

This card is for the monthly progressive challenge at Imagine That. I received the goose image for free because I entered last month's challenge. I can't wait to see what they send me for the November challenge.  Check them out and join along. What a wonderful way to get a free digital stamp.

The inside is "almost" done, but my color printer ran out of black ink so I can't print the sentiment.  I thought I would use the card as a "Welcome to the Neighborhood" card. Somehow the goose with the pie just seems like a "welcome" image to me. I added a digi fence and cut a strip of grass.

I love Fall

I love the Fall season. Living in Central Florida I still get to see a few Fall colors, just not like when we lived in Michigan. So I relive those Fall days and colors in the cards I make.

This card is for From The Heart Stamps' monthly challenge. It's a progressive challenge; enter the challenge once using the monthly digital image, and you'll receive a free digital image to use the following month. Harvest Medley is the free image I received for playing along in September.

The digital stamp has a set of 3 images in a square. I decided to cut them apart and put the sentiment on the front with additional die-cuts and use the other two images for the inside.

I colored the B&W digis using Copics. I sponged the edges and white paper using Memento Brown. The DP is from the Amber Autumn Matstack by DCWV. The cornstalks are from Die-namics and I'm not sure where I picked up the leaf punch.

I'm also entering this card in their weekly I {heart} Card Sketch Challenge #39

Happy Birthday!

Imagine my horror yesterday as I was writing my blog post and mentioned that the deadline for the challenge was "October 24" . . . October 24 ! !  That just happens to be my Dad's Birthday. Yup, and the card was still on my table . . . unfinished and unsent.

So, I scrambled to put it all together and I'm showcasing it today. This way my mom can show my dad a picture of the "card he isn't getting in time for his birthday" {smile}   Sorry, Dad.  I hope you know how much I love you, in spite of the fact that I'm enjoying your birthday card in person and you're not.

I suppose I should have used a "belated birthday" sentiment for the inside, but then this card wasn't late when I first started working on it.

Happy Birthday, Dad.  All our love, forever.

Card Recipe:

  > Inside sentiment: Stampin' Up!

Down to the Wire

I have another card for you today. Nothing like waiting until the last minute to get a card done for a Challenge that offers a free digital stamp set when you enter (the deadline is Oct 24).

You've heard me mention Doodle Pantry before; but to illustrate how wonderful their digis are, I was able to print, cut and put together the following card in under 1/2 hour--that included the time it took me to reprint the sentiment image because I didn't size it right the first time.  Now, for me . . . that is a HUGE change from my normal "work ALL DAY on a card and maybe finish it" scenario.

Now, to be fair, I didn't sponge any of the edges. I really liked the crispness of the white, so I thought I would leave it "as is."  And, I didn't enhance the colorized swag digi with Copics either. What you see is how it came off the printer.  The DP is from the Christ Your Treasure set;  the Holly Swags are from the Seasonal Swags set; and the Sentiment is from the Holiday Greetings set.  I cut the circles with Die-namics Stax 1 and 2.

Yes, that 1/2 hour even included finishing the INSIDE of the card. How wonderful is that.  In fact, I think it took me longer to photograph the card and write my post than it did to make the card.  Oh, I am entering this card in Doodle Pantry's Monthly Digital Challenge #39

Halloween Characters

This will be a very short post today (I promise).  But I wanted to share what the challenge this week is over at Crafty Creations Challenges.  It's Halloween Characters. I love this!!

This cute image is "Frankie" from Pollycraft. Unfortunately, they are closing their website; but, before they closed, I was able to purchase 60 colored digis for a very low price. They had really cute digis, so I'll certainly miss them. I'll share another card with you tomorrow that I made using another image from Pollycraft

I lighten colored digis before printing them. This allows me to add my own colors, highlights and accents where I want them. I colored the image using Copics.  I used a white gel pen to accent the white streaks in her hair. And, yes, there is no picture of the inside of the card for a reason. I haven't finished it yet. I barely had time to finish the outside for it to be included in this week's DT inspiration. I added twine and a large brown brad.

Check out the Crafty Creations Challenge blog this week (I wrote it).  I would love for you to see what the other DT members have created . . . and perhaps join us for a wonderful prize from Clearly Besotted Stamps.

It must be Sunday

Yes, it must be Sunday, since I have another Christmas card to share with you. The weeks are flying by quickly this year.  The challenge this week at Christmas Card Challenges is a Color Combo:

Pink, Brown and White

Not your traditional Christmas colors, so . . . I decided to make a "non-traditional" Christmas Card.

When I saw this digistamp from Melonheadz, I knew I had to use it for the pink/brown/white card this week.  The sentiment is computer generated  The paper is digipaper from Doodle Pantry (Seasonal Swags-Paper 5). The ribbon is from my stash (it's ages old) and tied to a wire ring.

The inside is finished with like papers/colors/ribbons; however the light I use to take pictures stopped working, so I only have one picture to share with you today (I'm just glad I was able to get a picture of the card front before things went haywire).

Wishing You Well

We're having a fun Challenge this week at Crafty Creations . . .
Easy as 1-2-3.
Use 1 ribbon, 2 embellishments and 3 papers.

How fun is that? Our sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish and I received the cutest digistamp ~ Five Little Froggies ~ for this challenge.

I colored the image with Copics and Sharpies. I added brown grosgrain ribbon and two bronze pearls. For the three papers I used polka dot DP from The Bewitched Stack by DCWV and brown and green cardstock.

I carried the papers to the inside and computer-generated the sentiment. I couldn't resist the pun.

Please stop by the Crafty Creations blog to see what the other Designers have created for you this week. And why not play along . . . you just might win a fabulous digital prize from Robyn's Fetish.

It's good to be Home

I really enjoy spending time with my parents and extended family (they all live out of state, so I don't get to see them as often as I would like) . . . but I also like getting back to a "normal" routine and not living out of a suitcase.

Since I haven't posted much over the past 2 weeks (only my required cards for the Design Team Challenges),  I thought I would share a card with you today.  Even though this was a "Welcome to your new Home" card, I felt the "home" image fit the fact that I'm now, well, home.

I punched a "sun" template using a circle punch and created a "cloud" template by punching holes with my standard hole punch (I now have a cloud die, but I didn't when I created this card).  I sponged it all with various Memento Ink Pads.  The house stamp is from the dollar bin at Joanns which I colored with Copics ~ I also fussy cut it out and raised it up using dimensionals. Some ribbon from SU! and Spellbinder die cuts finished off the front.

Now for my Oops!  Since I had very limited internet access during the past 2 weeks, it was a scramble getting my posts done for the Design Teams I'm on.  So, I just noticed I forgot to post the Photo for the Photo Challenge at Christmas Card Challenges this past Sunday. There's still time to play along (it's a prize challenge also).  Check out my post from Sunday, October 6 for details. Sorry for any confusion.

It's Christmas Sunday

Since I’m still visiting family, this post will be short. I've had a wonderful vacation even though it's been a LOT of running around ~ we attended 6 high school sporting events in 7 days.

Since it's Sunday that means another Christmas.  Join us every week at
and you'll have plenty of cards ready by the time Christmas rolls around.  This week's theme is:
Photo Challenge

I found a perfect FREE image from AJ Digis, Christmas Lights. I enhanced the lights with Glossy Accents.

The sentiments are from Doodle Pantry, Holiday Greetings. I received it for FREE several months ago and have been using it quite a bit.
**Note: I won a super prize from Doodle Pantry last week and I can’t wait to get home so I can create cards with all the digi stamps and papers and sentiments. I just love Doodle Pantry . . . mainly because you can get a black & white version and a color version, so if you’re short on time you can use the color digistamp to quickly create a card.

OK, back to Christmas Cards . . . be sure to visit the Christmas Card Challenges website so you can see what the other Designers have created for you this week.
